Adhering to our sustainability promise when Kingsfield first began, we are excited to announce that we will be the only estate in Victoria to be using Reconophalt – a new recycled asphalt – for road construction.

Reconophalt contains tonerplas (soft plastics & Printer toner), RAP (Recycled Asphalt), recycled oil and can contain recycled glass. The Tonerplas, RAP, oil and glass are all 100% recycled and mixed with an asphalt mix for a more environmentally-friendly finish.

To put the positive effect this will have on the environment into context, laying Reconophalt in Kingsfield’s first three stages will mean:

2,753,684 plastic bag equivalents would be diverted from going into landfill.
1,025,882 glass bottles would also avoid going to landfill.
Toner from 62,784 printer cartridges would be recycled into the asphalt mix.
